Who We Are
A 128 bed acute care hosptial, with a $100 million budget, Hudson Valley Hospital Center is strategically located one hour north of New York City on the shore of the Hudson River. The Hospital was founded in 1889 and in the last decade doubled its size to keep pace with a population boom in the area. In the last 5 years, the Hospital invested millions of dollars in its diagnostic imaging capabilities, unmatched in the area. We have excellent relationships with our area tertiary medical center, and with major medical institutions in New York City.
Emergency Department
Our Emergency Department received
New York State designation as a Stroke Center in 2005. A leader in patient
satisfaction throughout, the emergency room team revolutionized the patient
experience by eliminating the waiting room and was the first to introduce
a “NO-WAIT ER” in the area. High patient satisfaction scores
attest to the success of this bold re-engineering effort.
Hospitalist Coverage
A Hospitallist program was introduced in 2005 and received warm welcome by admitting physicians. They increase admission efficiencies from the Emergency Department and provide full time coverage for inpatients. All physicians are board certified or board eligible in internal medicine.
Maternity Services & NICU
The Women’s Pavilion houses a 5-star maternity suite with luxury amenities, whirlpool tubs in each labor/delivery room and an adjacent operating room for C-sections. 24-hour anesthesia coverage is provided. The nursery is credentialed as a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Neonatology coverage is provided around the clock.
Major Expansion Underway
With a region undergoing a healthy
period of growth and the baby boomers’ demand for quality health
care, Hudson Valley Hospital Center is moving full steam ahead with a
$100 million major modernization and expansion effort. With construction
currently underway, a brand new Hospital Center will open its doors in
2010.
New Patient Tower
A four-story tower will bring the latest concept in patient convenience, comfort and coordinated care. All private rooms will be designed to offer a top quality experience for patients, staff and physicians. The first floor will allow for the expansion of the Emergency Department. Additional treatment rooms as well as convenient access to diagnostic services will improve staff workflow and test results turnaround time.
The OR Theater of the Future
The construction of two new large operating rooms
will expand the surgery schedule for physicians and
provide efficiencies brought by new design and
space for the latest equipment. The new OR will
balance aesthetics for a healing environment with the
demands of new clinical practices.
